"Men will shake hands in greeting. Women will often pat each other on the right forearm or shoulder instead of shaking hands. If they have a close relationship, they may hug or kiss each other on the cheek. Men may wait for women to initiate a handshake. At a party, give a slight bow to everyone as you enter the room. It is customary to greet and shake hands with each individual. Usually your host will introduce you. You are expected to shake hands with each person when you leave" (Greeting).
